Furnas Therapy provides Occupational Therapy services directly to you in your home. We work primarily with adults and older Australians, offering a wide range of community-based interventions via your Home Care Package, or fee-for-service.

Home and Safety Assessments
The whole home is reviewed for access, safety and functionality with the view to keeping you at home, safe and independent, as long as possible. Assistive devices and modifications may be prescribed depending on your individual needs.
Mobility and Falls Assessments
A deep look into access to the home and how you get around. This can include assessment and prescription of individualised mobility aids and devices, such as wheeled walkers and wheelchairs, as well as help accessing funding where available.
Seating Assessments
Assessment and prescription for seating specific to your needs such as recliners, day chairs, bathroom aids, and wheelchairs. This can include specialist postural support prescription and pressure care where needed.
Access Assessments
An in-depth review of access to and around the home for wheeled and walking mobility. This may include prescription of ramps or stair lifts depending on your individual needs and budget.
Equipment Prescription and Review
Help finding all those useful pieces of equipment, both big and small, that make everyday life safer and more independent for you. This can also include help to access funding where available.
Pressure Assessments
Evidence-based assessment of likely risk, as well as intervention to prevent and treat existing pressure injuries. This can include prescription of appropriate pressure surfaces such as mattresses, cushions and overlays, as well as help with accessing funding where available
Minor Home Modifications
Assessment and prescription for minor modifications such as ramps, rails and platforms, that make everyday life just that bit safer and easier. Consultation for major modifications (>$3,300) on a case-by-case basis.
Specific Functional Assessments
Got a task that just isn’t working for you? We can take a good look at it and make suggestions on how to be more safe and independent so you can get back to enjoying what you do.
Cognitive Assessments
Evidence-based assessment of functional cognitive and memory status. This can include administration of the PAS, MOCA or RUDAS to assist with applying for the HCP Dementia Supplement
