Meet the therapist

Jane Furnas has been practicing as an Occupational Therapist since 2016, with extensive experience working in the West Moreton region as a community-based therapist. Her special interests include wheelchair prescription, home modification, pressure care, dementia care, and complex neurological conditions.

Prior to becoming an OT, Jane worked for two Queensland universities managing Australia’s largest Interprofessional Education competition where she taught health students the importance of working holistically together in teams. It was there she met some of the best young clinicians in the world and decided working in health sounded like lots more fun.

Aside from wild spectacle frames and getting wheelchair prescriptions ‘just right’, she enjoys being a messy cook, and spending time in her vege patch growing super hot chillis.

What we’re all about

Here at Furnas Therapy, we’re all about providing person-centered, holistic Occupational Therapy right where it’s needed; in the home. That means when we provide therapy we treat the whole person, with them at the center, to ensure whatever solutions we suggest are meaningful and tailored to them.

We spend time getting to know our clients, so that we can meet them where they are on their health journey. We’re also all about the team. Which means working closely with other health disciplines and referring on when it's indicated.

With Furnas Therapy, you’ll get no-fuss, in-home occupational therapy; prompt, clear communication; and a holistic team-based approach.
